Meet Worthy Plates

I'm Andrea Canada, a registered dietitian and the founder of Worthy Plates Culinary Nutrition.

Nutrition is a second career for me.  I studied bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania and worked as a supply chain management consultant for Fortune 500 companies.  Eventually, my passion for good food, nutrition, and public health took over and I returned to school to study nutrition. I completed a Master in Public Health from the CUNY School of Public Health and became an registered dietitian.

I founded Worthy Plates to help food service operations and chefs meet the evolving demands for nutrition information, and healthier, greener menus. Since becoming an RD, I have worked with food service operations at the cross-roads of nutrition science, environmental sustainability and food policy. For the past seven years, I've worked with SPE Certified and its sister restaurant Rouge Tomate, supporting its mission to support human nutrition and the health of the environment.

I've witnessed firsthand that support from a trained and experienced dietitian is critical for companies to navigate the world of nutrition regulations and accurately provide the transparency customers are looking for from food service. At Worthy Plates, I have combined my love of food with my management consulting, food service and nutrition expertise to support the food service industry in meeting this demand.
